LIFE IS BETTER TOGETHER
Our life groups’ commitment is to be a real expression of how God sets the solitary in families, to give every person in our church a sense of acceptance and belonging, and provide strong, vital and supportive community for you to do life with- to give and receive from!
Our life groups run in seasonal cycles and meet in diverse ways, at different times, and on different platforms. Through whatever season of life you’re in, there’s a life group for you!

Have you been in 2 or more life group seasons?
Are you gifted in coordination?
Then here’s a great opportunity for you to partner with Sycamore Church in building a healthy God-community.
Leading a life group is not about being perfect, it’s about serving to give others a chance to belong in a God-community.
Whether you have previously served or not, we believe that leadership requires a deliberate consistent commitment. All through Scripture, God places a huge weight on leadership. Quite honestly, no people or group will ever rise above the level of their leadership and so leadership must be approached with an utmost sense of regard and deep consideration.

Enjoying your life group
Your life group is committed to making sure you enjoy safety in connecting with people; providing a platform for you to pursue a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus, and finding the expressions of that in your everyday life.
Every life group understandably has a different feel and flair to it, because the members are different. It’s exciting for us to see you bring your best to your life group, and along with your leader and other members, build a beautiful and fruitful group together that looks like you!
Your life group activities
Group discussions: They are great sharing and learning opportunities wrapped around the Word of God. Group discussions usually search for the very practical ‘Monday morning’ applications of our learning. Our group discussions help us to all learn off each other’s unique experience and
understanding.
Games & Hangouts: These are deliberate fun and exciting moments group members rally around to create refreshing memories in the middle of life’s sometimes many motions.
Belong & Become- Your life group story!
Our prayer and great desire for you is that, no matter who you are or what you’ve been through, as you give
yourself to this God-given opportunity, you will look back over your shoulders as the seasons unfold, and find yourself becoming more and more of the person
that Jesus died for you to be, flowing out of a very deep sense of belonging and connection with family.
Our church is not a crowd. It’s a family where you belong!
How to be a great life group member
We expect that out of a deep sense of value and weight that we place on you as a vital and important member of your group, you would consistently and in a very committed way, handle the trust and opportunity given to you very deliberately and seriously.
We expect you, as a member of your life group, to be supportive of and cooperative with your leader and group members and to give yourself entirely to being a part of your group. We expect you to join in and participate fully in the activities of your group.
Where there are factors beyond your control that affect your availability with any life group activity, we expect you to communicate appropriately with your group leader.
Your life group leader
Your life group is served by a leader who works to coordinate and facilitate the activities of your group. Our group leaders are carefully chosen and trained. The church invests a lot in ensuring that your life group leader is able to provide the leadership and support that your group needs.
We encourage you to receive your leader appropriately as the Bible teaches
(Hebrews 13:17), and work cooperatively with your leader to collectively create the very best experience for your group.
Your life group members
Every member of your life group- like yourself- is in some way or the other on a journey to finding Jesus, or of walking with Him. It is a great blessing to be able to relate, share and learn from one another, and on the whole, do life together!
Life Group members consist of people from all around the world- different backgrounds, life experiences, seasons of life and even, in some cases, different time zones!
You should expect to have different kinds of people as members of your life group. Embrace the beauty of diversity and difference within your family, and consider it as an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in a holistic way.
