Children are surrounded by hero narratives, from the animations and cartoons they watch to the books they read. So it’s fascinating when kids talk about their heroes straight out of the bible.
It’s even more interesting when they share reasons why they consider these biblical figures to be heroes. Dive in to read the reasons why these four kids love their favourite bible heroes.
My favourite hero is DAVID!
I like David because he killed Goliath. He was so brave and courageous. When he had the chance to kill Saul, he did not kill him even after the bad things Saul did to him.
Although he took another person’s wife, he later repented because he knew it was not a good thing to do and would make God unhappy.
When David’s first son from Bathsheba died, he still praised GOD, he was not angry with GOD. He liked music and that’s also why I like him and he loved to take care of animals.
I want to be like David, play music, have a dog, take care of it and be able to forgive people like he did.

My favourite bible hero is Jesus.
The reason why Jesus is my hero is because he forgives me, and he saved me from my sin. He is my saviour. He tells a lot of parables and I like how he tells stories.
Jesus tells a lot of parables that are interesting like the parables of the prodigal son and so much more.
He provides for me (Psalm 23:1). He loves children and I know he loves me too. He loves his friends.
When Lazarus died, he wept but used his power to raise Lazarus from the dead. I want to be able to help my friends too when they need help.

My favourite hero is JESUS!
The name “Jesus” means Saviour, and I will like to tell you why Jesus was born into the world.
The world was full of sin and many people didn’t know God. They worshipped different gods and lived wicked lives.
Jesus was born to teach the world about the true God and lay down his life for the forgiveness of our sins.
The birth of Jesus brings salvation to the world.
Jesus shows the way to God. His death on the cross paid the full price for our salvation. Salvation means to be saved from our sins.
Through Jesus, human beings and God can be friends again. I choose Jesus as my hero because he saved me.

My favourite Hero is Queen Esther.
I like her because she saved the Jews from being annihilated by Haman. She also was very beautiful.
Queen Esther told Mordecai to gather all the Jews to fast and pray for three days. She ordered that the King reverse the order of Haman (Esther 4).
Esther was very brave and bold. Like Esther, I can be brave at all times.
