Scripture reading: “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’” – Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
As we approach the end of the year, it’s easy to feel weary and burdened by the trials we have faced, the plans that didn’t come to pass, and the uncertainties of what’s ahead. Yet, Jesus offers an invitation that transcends our struggles—rest. But this rest isn’t merely physical— it’s the deep, soul-refreshing peace that comes from trusting in His promises. God invites us to release our worries and let Him carry our burdens. In doing so, we find hope, peace, and renewed confidence in His perfect plans for us.
This kind of rest requires faith. We must believe that God’s ways are best, even when the path ahead seems unclear. As we let go of fear and surrender our anxieties, we align our hearts with His will, experiencing a deep sense of peace.
Challenge: Meditate on a promise from God’s Word that brings you comfort and hope. Write it down and keep it as a daily reminder to rest in Him.
