Scripture reading: “But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works.” —Psalm 77:11-12 (NLT)
In our busy lives, reflection can seem like a luxury we don’t have time for. Yet, pausing to remember what God has done can strengthen our faith and fill us with gratitude.
David’s example reminds us of the power of reflection. Before facing Goliath, he recalled how God delivered him from lions and bears, giving him confidence to trust God again. Similarly, when the Israelites crossed the Jordan, they took stones as reminders of God’s miracles for future generations.
Reflection doesn’t always change our circumstances, but it changes our perspective. It reminds us of:
- God’s presence in both joyful and hard times.
- God’s protection when we felt vulnerable.
- God’s provision in ways beyond our abilities.
- God’s faithfulness in keeping His promises.
- God’s compassion and mercy through every season.
Challenge: Hold up your hand. For each finger, name one thing God has done for you this year. Let these memories fill your heart with gratitude and strengthen your trust in His faithfulness.
