Bible Reading – Mark 4
Thoughts for Reflection:
(v 1 – 20) In our reading today, we see that what our lives produce is not merely a function of God’s intention or God’s provision, but very importantly also, our heart condition. Reflect today on the factors that made the seed of God unproductive in the first three heart conditions, and also on what made the seed of God productive in the fourth, and consider ways that you might need to guard or condition your heart better this year.
(v 30 – 32) Notice God’s pattern of operation highlighted in this parable- little seed that leads to great fruitfulness, and then leads to wide-reaching influence. Are there any sequences in your life right now where you can highlight this pattern? Are there any areas where you need to be challenged towards this pattern?
In Prayer today:
Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? Mark 4:21 NKJV
Pray today for the Lord to give you vantage positions this year to express what He has put within you. Pray that you will enjoy the right platforms and opportunities that will give full expression to the gifts and ideas that He has put within you.
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39 NKJV
Pray for the peace that God gives to guard your heart and all that surrounds you. In the midst of all the trouble in the world, pray that your heart will be established in peace, such that you will also be able to give peace to those around you.
