Bible Reading – Philemon 1
Thoughts for Reflection:
(v 4 – 5) Paul has strong commendation for Philemon’s faith and love towards God and towards other Christians. If Paul was writing about you, would he be able to commend these in you? Consider today ways in which you can express more faith and love towards God and other Christians?
(v 8 – 15) Notice how the gospel of Jesus astronomically changes the value of any life that it comes into, as evidenced with Onesimus. Reflect today on areas in which the gospel of Jesus has brought changes into your life, and be grateful for them; but also highlight for yourself areas that you’re believing to see the gospel change as you wait on God in this season.
In Prayer today:
We each have the same faith in Christ as we serve him. So I pray that, as a result, you will become strong. I pray that you will understand more about every good thing that is ours because of Christ. Philemon 1:6 EASY
Pray that you will become more and more aware of every good thing that you have in Christ. Pray that you will live strong in this awareness.
Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say. Philemon 1:21 NKJV
Pray that the Lord will establish you as an over-and-above faithful person this year. Pray that you will be faithful in all trusts and expectations that God has committed in your hands.
