Day 3: The Power of Response

Bible Reading – Jonah 3

Thoughts for Reflection:

(v 1 – 4)  Jonah has heard this same instruction from God before. What is different now is that he responds in obedience, rather than disobedience. Because of the right response, the destiny of an entire ‘great city’ is turned around. Take a moment today to reflect on areas in your life where you have seen great change/ effect because of the right response, and then consider if there are new areas where you are hesitating or struggling to respond in obedience to God.

(v 5 – 11) The people of Niniveh didn’t merely believe, they responded and acted in line with their believing. Consider one or two major things that you are believing God for as you seek him, and ask yourself what actions you can take in line with your believing?

In Prayer today:

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time… Jonah 3:1 NKJV

Ask the Lord to bring fresh opportunities into your life in this season- over and above previous mistakes made, and even previous opportunities exhausted.

When Jonah arrived in Nineveh, he walked for one day into the city. Then he shouted out to the people, ‘After 40 more days, God will destroy Nineveh.’ Jonah 3:4 EASY

Pray today that your life will be a life that speaks for God everywhere you come into this year. Pray that your life will carry a strong and compelling witness to the people that you meet and in the places that you come into.
