Bible Reading – Mark 16
Thoughts for Reflection:
(v 9 – 14) In our reading today, notice how Jesus doesn’t stop at doing the work of redemption, but also goes further to patiently and lovingly help his disciples believe in Him. We will only stand in the beauty of His sacrifice when we believe Him. Are there ways or areas that you find yourself doubting Jesus? Meditate today on how He has done the absolute big one for you, and is worthy to be trusted with all the littler details of your life.
(v 14-20) On the back of His resurrection, Jesus left His disciples with a clear audacious mission, but also a gracious provision. As you look to the year ahead and all the demands ahead of you, reflect today and assure your heart with the backing that is provided for you by Jesus’ triumphant victory over death.
In Prayer today:
Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. Mark 16:14 NKJV
Pray today for your heart to be full of belief and not doubt and hardness towards God. Pray that you will not miss out on possibilities that Jesus died to bring into your life because you fall short on believing Him.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15 NKJV
Pray to live a life that gives strong witness to Jesus! Pray that this year, with your words, actions and endeavours, the gospel will be generously preached.
