Day 20- Acts 20

Bible Reading: Acts 20

Meditation Focus: Firmly Focused

Thoughts for Reflection:

1. (v1 – 24) The resilience of a Jesus follower is that whatever the journey brings, we are committed to finishing strong and seeing Jesus glorified. Am I in some way losing sight of this? Does the busyness of life and pressure of the immediate derail my big focus ?

2. (v 25 – 38) In his final thoughts, Paul leaves the believers with a few anchors that should matter to all Christians everywhere:
Give attention to yourself;
Give attention to God’s People;
Give attention to God’s Word.
Do I give enough thinking and effort towards being a long-haul Christian, or am I merely immediate in my thoughts?

In Prayer Today
But none of these things move me nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus , to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24 NKJV
Pray for tenacity and staying power to finish strong with all that God has committed into your hands. Pray for a strengthening of your convictions and passions in the direction of God’s purpose.

“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace , which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”  Acts 20:32 NKJV
Pray that this is a season of you being built up and established in what God has given you as your own. Pray that more than ever before, and all through this year, your heart is open and receptive to God’s working that builds up and establishes.

P.S. As we gradually come to the end of our Surge season, it will be great to hear all the stories of what God has done in and for you in Surge, and of your Surge experience in general. Please take a moment to share at bit.ly/SycStory
