Day 2: Turning To God

Bible Reading – Jonah 2

Thoughts for Reflection:

(v 1 – 10) We read today of Jonah sincerely turning to God from inside the belly of the fish, against all odds of his failures and fears. What is most beautiful is to see how God hears and answers. In this season of waiting on God, how do you want to challenge and set yourself up to turn more of your attention and trust more of your heart to God?

In Prayer today:

As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Jonah 2:7 NLT

Pray that it will not take crises situations for you to rightly remember the Lord this year. Pray that He will have your focus and attention as the centre of your life.

I sank beneath the waves, and death was very near. The waters closed above me; the seaweed wrapped itself around my head.

Jonah 2:5 TLB

Intercede specifically for someone that you know who is in a desperate situation, and ask for the Lord to intervene in His mercy. Also ask that the crises will turn to an opportunity for the person to know Jesus (better).
