Bible Reading – Mark 14
Thoughts for Reflection:
(v 3- 9) Notice that true worship is very costly. What is it presently costing you to follow and honour Jesus? From resource to reputation, from time to talents, from plans to passions, from desires to disciplines, true worship is costly. In our reading today, some angrily began to call the woman’s act of worship waste. Reflect today on some of the things that following Jesus might be costing you right now, and affirm it to be your worship, and not waste.
(v 12 – 21) We see in our reading today how God is constantly a step ahead in being prepared for us. While Jesus’ disciples were thinking about where to have the Passover, God already had a large ‘furnished and prepared’ room waiting on them, and orchestrated for them to be led there by following a man with a pitcher. Think today about some of the people that God has used in a right-on-time way to bring you into His plans for you, and be grateful to God for His intentionality, and to the people also.
In Prayer today:
Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us. Mark 14:15 NKJV
Pray to be rightly aligned into all the provisions and preparations that God already has for you this year. Pray that your steps will be rightly ordered and that just like the disciples following the man with the pitcher, your relationships will lead you aright.
And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” Mark 14:36 NKJV
Pray today to be established in the will of God for your life this year. Pray that your heart will trust the goodness of God’s will and you will totally surrender to it through all circumstances.
