Bible Reading: Acts 14
Meditation Focus: Advancement of the Gospel Despite Opposition
Thoughts For Reflection
1. (v 1 – 7) Do you observe how that the response of Paul and Barnabas when faced with opposition was not just to retreat and cringe in fear but to return ready with the gospel on their lips. Are there God conversations for opportunities for witness that I’m shying away from because of opposition?
3. (v19 – 28) Undeterred, the apostles returned even to cities where they saw hurt, opposition and idol worship, with fresh enthusiasm to strengthen and encourage believers. Do I sometimes make light of how far my encouragement can go in the lives of people in my influence space? Who can I intentionally reach out to with encouragement and strength in this season?
In Prayer Today:
Therefore they stayed there a long time , speaking boldly in the Lord , who was bearing witness to the word of His grace , granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. Acts 14:3 NKJV
Pray for boldness and tenacity to proclaim the gospel in this day and age. Pray that the effort that you put out will be backed strongly by God.
This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice , “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked. Acts 14:9 -10 NKJV
Pray for a heightened awareness and for eyes that see potential and opportunities in people. Pray that in this season, you will partner with God to help people around you become more than they have ever been.
