Bible Reading : Acts 12
Meditation Focus: God’s Reign Above Man’s Schemings
Thoughts For Reflection
- (V 1 – 19) Do you notice the great power of a praying community? If there is a people to pray, there is still a God to answer. We don’t have to ever resign to the schemings of men and the turbulences in the world- we can pray! Are there things that you need to commit to praying about in community, rather than resigning?
- (v 20-24) In Herod, we see the futility of trying to play God. Are there ways in which you often try to ascribe sovereignty on yourself? Are there traces of pride in your heart because of positions you occupy or influences that you hold? Do the accolades of people mean more to you than they should- and do the absence of such accolades mean more than they should?
In Prayer Today:
The Word of God was heard by many people and went into more places. Acts 12:24 NLV
Would you intercede for a fresh reach of the gospel, particularly in Nigeria. Pray that the word will be heard by many more people in more places, and that God will cause the joy and hope that the gospel brings to prevail over the hopelessness in the land.
And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry… Acts 12: 25 NKJV
Pray that this year you will walk in the joy of fulfilment and completion. Pray that tasks in your hands, processes, opportunities, seasons, assignments, and so on, will be completed well. Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit for you not to tire out in the middle of processes.
PS: Remember that tomorrow, Saturday 21st January is a great opportunity to join others to pray! Our SuperSaturday prayer and prophetic gathering holds from 7-9 am both in the building and online.
Holy Spirit, I thank You because You’re helping me not to tire out in the middle of processes.
Thank You Jesus!
